“Dogtown Colorado Co. was established to create clear connection and communication between humans and their dogs.” ~ Cecilia
From a young age, Cecilia had a deep and energetic connection with animals. Born and raised in the mountains of Italy into a family of Equestrians, it was only natural that she began her own Equestrian journey at the age of five that led to a love for all animals. According to her family, there was never a time that Cecilia did not have a dog by her side and it was always clear to her that her purpose in life was to foster the connection between humans and animals through her devotion to dogs.
After moving to Los Angeles, Cecilia returned to her beloved animals working as a professional dog walker, and working with renowned trainer Lynn Medlin at Dog Town Dog Training, as well as working with private clients. The bond between Cecilia and her clients is like the bond formed between a pack leader and the pack - rooted in understanding, purpose and appreciation; never “working” a day in her life because she so deeply loves what she does.
With this understanding in her heart, Cecilia enrolled at the Animal Behavioral College to further her education. She received her Professional Trainer Certificate in Dog Training in 2014. To further understand pack mentality and dog behaviors, she continued her education at Lucas-Agnew Advanced Learning Program with a concentration in Dog Psychology. Education and training are mainstays to her practice and principles to this day.
Cecilia strongly believes that the mental and physical health of pets should be a priority for every responsible dog owner. It is her belief that humans can understand the needs of our pets and fulfill them in order to create a healthy partnership and benefit exponentially from the full expression of their happy, balanced pet. It is her main purpose to create clear connections between animals and their human(s).
Since joining the Black Paw Dog Training team in 2020, Cecilia has rapidly advanced to become one of the Head Trainers, bringing unparalleled dedication and expertise to her role. Cecilia collaborates with Earth League International, a nonprofit association whose mission is the safety and preservation of animals around the world. For over five years, Cecilia held the position of Foster Coordinator for A Purposeful Rescue, a non-profit rescue that saves dogs from LA shelters and has a strong focus on prevention & outreach. Cecilia is also volunteering at Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary, a safe place for animals rescued from abuse, neglect, slaughter, and exploitation. She also enjoys a plant-based lifestyle as a private and silent way of advocating for animal rights and honoring our planet.
